Required Supplies that can be purchased as we progress:

Altar Supplies:

You will need to erect and maintain a different altar for each season of the wheel. These altars will be based on the following colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet or white. You will need altar cloths, colored candles, and other items as necessary for your altars. It's not necessary to go out and purchase new altar cloths, you may find use what you already have, but start looking for where you want to put this personal altar. You're going to be asked to do a daily invocation in the morning, so you may want to put it somewhere you know you will be early in the day.

Suggested Supplies:

A copy of the "Wheel of WISE". I've given you a copy at the top of the page.

Any reference books on mythology will help you research and learn more about the different deities we will be working with. I recommend: "Metamorphosis” by Ovid. It's the accepted standard of the original Greek and Roman writings. I find many clues in this book that are missed in the books that are retelling the story. Other books that I have found useful are "Edith Hamilton's Mythology", and Robert Graves, "The Greek Myths". Mythic Astrology” by Guttman and Johnson is also a great book, and will help you both during your Sophomore and Junior year. Mythological encyclopedia's are usually to generalized to be very helpful.

Other books on the planets, both astrologically, and astronomically are helpful, but again, not required. It really just depends on how much personal research you want to do.

Chakra Support:

Oils, and Sprays - WISE has developed some Chakra oils and sprays that clear and open the chakras. These are great for annointing yourself every morning when you do your daily invocation, because they keep the energy with you, and it's invisible protection.

A wide variety of supplies are available that deal with color therapy, such as chakra baths, colored and scented candles, different colored light bulbs, etc. All these are helpful, as is wearing the color to which you are attuning. All these methods are helpful additions to the basics of Chakra glasses, and oils. Purchase these tools in addition to, not in place of the other methods recommended.

Prerequisites: Must have completed Wicca 101/102/103, & Ritual 101, student must also be enrolled in or have already completed Wicca 106 and have instructor permission to join.

Course Image Wicca 201B - Progressive Witchcraft

The Progressive Witchcraft sophomore year  is an Eight Lesson Progressive Witchcraft Course taught by Gavin Bone, and has its origins in the system of training developed by Janet Farrar and Gavin Bone in the early 2000's.

The system of training is based around the two core components of Spiritual/Mythical Cosmology and Magical Energy work, and was created to fulfill a need among students who had already been practicing witchcraft for some time prior to joining a coven.

The central concept is a system of training which is based on the root core elements of all magic and witchcraft. This allows any cultural or mythological elements, and traditions, to be overlaid upon that which has already been learned by incoming students. It is currently in use among several covens and traditions around the world, including in the United States, Belgium, Italy, UK and of course Ireland.

Spiritual/Mythical Cosmology work allows occult, mythological and psychological realms to be placed in the context of a 'map' which allows 'travel' around it, as well as explaining basic Wiccan practices. These range from the placing of the Elements and Circle Casting, to Drawing Down The Moon. It also combines elements which would be familiar to anyone practicing Shamanism.

The Magical Energy Work component teaches students how magic works on the most basic level, which is at the core of all magical systems. It teaches sorcery in its purest form; the manipulation of energy directly, which allows a thorough understanding of the purpose of Ritual.

The course is an intensive one, comprising eight six-week lessons, which cover an introductory lesson, the four elements, plus Ether, Mind and Spirit. Essays, practical exercises, as well as meditations combine to create a comprehensive course suitable for those who have already learned the basics of modern Witchcraft, but also appeals to those who have an interest in techniques which will allow them to access the deeper mysteries.

This is a year-long sophomore class, and you can take this class OR the Year and A Day class, but not both at the same time. You must have successfully completed Ritual 101 and Accelerated Wicca 101/102/103 to be admitted to this class. You are expected to complete ‘Wicca 106 – Wheel of the year’ during the year which you take this class.
